This week we watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2 E6: "Halloween" & Gilmore Girls S2 E6: "Presenting Lorelai Gilmore"

This week both of our teen heroines donned old fancy dresses for the purpose of enticing men, which actually seems pretty dumb in both cases. We're lead to believe that a woman is completely undesirable if she has a small scratch on her face or single piece of trash in her hair. Apparently Giles has a whole dark and mysterious past? And Spike has an AV crew? Also yes, we clearly don't know much about debutante balls, but Bryan does maybe know a guy named Debutante Paul?

This week we watched Gilmore Girls S2 E5: "Nick & Nora/Sid & Nancy" & Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2 E5: "Reptile Boy"

This episode marks the introduction of fan fav, Jess Mariano, who comes into town fresh off the bench press with a whole lotta 'tude. Despite all that, it's mostly with Paris and the journalism practices of The Franklin where Bryan's qualms lie.  Over in Sunnydale, Buffy's got a whole lineup of older male suitors vying for her attention. Will she choose the mysterious frat boy? Angel? Xander? Giles?  Or.... the ancient horned-up snake demon? And we've suddenly noticed both show's casts are very very hot! Right?

Back with another new podcast episode, Mums on the Run.

This week we watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2 E4: "Inca Mummy Girl" & Gilmore Girls S2 E4 "The Road Trip to Harvard"

Guys, neither of these episodes were very good. A mummy's on the loose, and so is Lorelia!  While the Lorelias unenthusiastically experience B&B culture, the kids at Sunnydale experience... well, just culture, seemingly for the 1st time. Apparently Harvard and the Sunnydale museum have the same level of security, which is none. Stacey has started shipping Buffy & Giles. Why not? Buffy's mom seems fine with it. And turns out Bryan is a bit of a Rory in the worst way possible. P.S. Stacey writes these.

This week we watched Gilmore Girls S2 E3: "Red Light on the Wedding Night" & Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2 E3: "School Hard"

It was really hard to decide which show was better this week, but not as hard as the writers threw Max Medina and the Anointed One in the trash. The Gilmore Girls are confused about the concept of a broiler drawer, and we're confused why Buffy doesn't just tell her mom she's the Slayer AND about the concept of  a broiler drawer. We finally get to meet Spike! Turns out, he's pretty tough, but he's no match for JOYCE! Also, Stacey has a theory about Luke's love language.

This week we watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2 E2: "Some Assembly Required" & Gilmore Girls S2 E2: "Hammers & Veils"

Rory somehow missed the memo about needing extracurriculars to get into Harvard, so she learns how to build a house. Meanwhile in Sunnydale, two boys we've never met have taught themselves to build a woman! We learn that some mothers handle grief by not caring about their daughter's wedding, and some by torpidly re-watching football games. Stacey will never get over how a 200 -year-old man can be in love with a teen, and Bryan tells a tale from the olden days about pen pals, chat rooms, and VHS tapes.

This week we watched the Season 2 premiere of both shows. Gilmore Girls S2 E1: "Sade, Sadie" & Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2 E1: "When She Was Bad"

A summer to ponder has certainly changed Buffy's attitude, but not as much as one day has change Dean's physique. Lorelai is engaged, and even her best friend has to ask to whom. Xander, Willow, and Giles seem to have grown closer over the summer, while Rory seems barely concerned about Lane getting shipped to Korea indefinitely. The Anointed One has gone full Steve Jobs. Luke maybe doesn't know how to make coffee? AND... a special guest joins us for Meanwhile on Charmed!

It's a wrap on Season 1 of Buffy the Gilmore Slayer, and we're celebrating with a new episode dedicated to all our favorite moments.

In this special episode, we recap our general thoughts on Season 1 of both shows. We count down our top 5 moments, discuss our least favorite moments, reveal our favorite episodes, AND which show we thought was better overall. Bryan takes a controversial stance on Luke. Stacey takes a controversial stance on The Master. We decide that most vampires are probably named Damon, and discuss a very interesting casting choice you may not remember from the later seasons of Gilmore Girls.

We did it guys! We made it through last week, and now it's a new week, which means a new episode of Buffy the Gilmore Slayer! This week we watched the season finale of both shows. Gilmore Girls S1 E22: "Love, Daisies and Troubadours"  & Buffy the Vampire Slayer  S1 E12 "Prophecy Girl"

Luke deals with his emotional issues by doing unrequested construction at Lorelai's house. Meanwhile Rory and Dean share the most aggressive kiss we've ever seen. We can't figure out why Paris's friends actually like her or why Sunnydale high seems to have more than one prom.  Xander decides to swallow his pride and open his lungs to save Buffy. We disagree over who does a better Giles accent. We'll let you decide who it is, but it's obviously Stacey. And you'll never believe the sound Bryan makes when he's putting clues together.

Podcast Episode 1.13

Did you know Buffy had an unaired pilot and the it's free to watch on YouTube? Welp, we watched it for this week's new episode, as well as Gilmore Girls S1 E19: "Emily in Wonderland" as well as E20: "P.S. I Lo..."

Stacey's pretty sure Buffy is gonna go through principals the way Emily Gilmore goes through maids. It's good to know, even in this alternate Buffy universe, Sunnydale High shuts down for NO reason. Buffy weirdly and sadly stares out a window, and Rory stares right back at her from Chilton, because people are trying to protect her, and she is pissed! Bryan and Stacey almost break up over the Black-White-Read movie night, and realize they should really come up with a better end of life plan. Plus, Bryan learns what pumps are!

Podcast Episode 1.12

We've got another new episode, and this week we watched a movie!

Bryan finds Luke's violent behavior toward a 16-year-old boy totally unacceptable, and to be fair, Bryan's totally right. We ship Paris and someone you'd never dream of, but it's perfect! Trust us; you'll love it. And apparently Emily had a Siri before any of us. We watched the 1992 Buffy movie, and Lord, that gymnasium needs better security. Turns out this version of Buffy relies heavily on gymnastics, gets vamp cramps, and goes to high school with Ben Affleck!? And I guess we're still debating whether or not boobs are genitals.

Happy new episode day!

This one's a little long guys. All 3 of these episodes are great, and there's a lot to cover. We both tell tales about overcoming bullies in our youth. We learn a lot about Cordelia, except why she makes dresses at school late at night. We have no clue what's going on with Christopher's nose or what he did to Lorelai's shirt, and Bryan's calling out Luke for his emotional issues. Meanwhile, how did Charmed make it 8 seasons? They already seem pretty desperate for ideas.

Rory AND Buffy's dads make their 1st appearances. Really? A THIRD love interest for Lorelai? Bryan calls out the Gilmore Girls' diet for being, let's say... unrealistic? He's also getting better with names! Old ones, he's still struggling hard with the new ones. Speaking of names, nothing good ever happens to new characters who get names on Buffy. Stacey also thinks Xander looks pretty alright naked considering he can't stop guzzling candy bars.

Ooooo, a kinda SPOOKY new episode! 

Buffy finally gets a new principal with a familiar face, or at least familiar voice. Hopefully he can fix the school, and quell the big rivalry between the band and the dancers. Meanwhile over at Chilton, lunch is served in the morning, and honestly a lot of the behavior of these Gilmore Girl characters was pretty psychotic this week. Stacey brought home a possibly haunted painting, but Bryan's dark hamster tale is maybe even scarier.

We've got Episode 1.8 of Buffy the Gilmore Slayer!

Tristan is alive, well, and heavily featured in this episode, much to Bryan's dismay. Luckily Bryan was able to take some of his aggressions out on our neighbor lady and her loud loud dog this week. We learn there's apparently a whole secret world of technopaganism, and that maybe Giles was really on to something when he said the internet would eventually ruin society. Meanwhile, things are getting... a LITTLE hard to keep straight over on Charmed.

We finally figure out Angel's deal! Spoilers! No, for real, Bryan spoiled it for Stacey RIGHT before they watched the episode. All of our leading ladies make big moves by inviting men into their homes. Turns out Richard and Emily aren't the only ones who love frozen pizza. Also, between our hungry cat, our noisy superintendent, and some mysterious issues with Bryan mic, this one has a few sound slipups, but we're learning and growing!

We start off with some hot tips for getting rid of cockroaches. Bryan's caught on to Emily's inability to keep the same maid. We discover Lane is oddly productive before 8am. Are these Sunnydale High kids secretly kindergartners? 30 years olds? Maybe some of both? Xander's new friends have a TERRIBLE influence on him, and we swear, everything is fine... The podcast is definitely NOT the only thing holding our relationship together...
